I told you I’d have pictures and so I’m delivering.

I decided to break this up into sections to make it easier for you to grasp what we’ve done around this place. The first night will be the basement, truly the worst of the worst when it comes to the disaster that was our condo a few months ago.

In the pictures that follow you’ll probably be very confused as to why we wound up buying this place. The paint job was…well, words don’t really do it justice. It’s something you simply have to see to believe. Somehow, though, we saw potential and, personally, I’m pretty happy with what we’ve done so far. The basement has required a lot of work and we aren’t really finished with it yet. I still have a little drywall work to do, we have some decorating to do, and we have two rooms that really need some major work done as far as organization. But it’s “good enough” for now, I think, as we head into the last few months before the wedding and have plenty of other things to do before then.

The pictures also don’t represent all of the basement. Down the hallway next to the bar are two doors – one leading to the office on the right and another straight ahead leading to an unfinished portion of the basement that I’ll be using as a workshop for building things and storing tools. These are the two rooms that need the most work and maybe someday I’ll be showing you pictures of those as well. In the meantime, take my word for it that they exist and understand that they are simply too trashed at the moment to show.

And so, without further bantering about, let’s get on with the first leg of our tour.
