I don’t even feel like writing this today. That’s how my week has been up till now. I’ve been writing, watching movies, and generally living my life as I normally would with the occasional interjection of sweet corn (Thanks Dad and Lesa), but for some reason I’m just really burned out this week.

On top of the general feeling of burnout, my old football injury from my senior year is acting up. I have no idea what’s wrong, but basically my shoulder joint feels like it’s not “in”, if you know what I mean. There’s a small bump that feels like bone right at the source of the pain. No clue what’s going on, but basically every time I move my shoulder, it pops and hurts a little. When I try to stretch it out, it hurts more. This has been going on for a while now, but I’ve just been fighting through it to get my workouts in. Now, though, I’m thinking I should finally see someone about it or it’s just going to get worse.

Did I mention I had to shut down The Boundry this week? Yeah, over the weekend I picked up a few writer’s magazines and inside one of them they had an article about e-publishing rights. As many paper and staple magazines also have websites nowadays, they often want first e-publishing rights as well to consider a story for publication. Since I was posting some of my stuff online myself, I was essentially taking away those first e-publication rights, which could seriously hurt my chances of someone paying me to publish my stuff. So, The Boundry is no more, sadly. Doesn’t mean I’m going to stop writing, but it does mean the three of you who were reading it on a semi-regular basis will need to let me know and I’ll be happy to send you things I’m working on.

Oh, and thus far my little film club idea is not exactly taking off. Granted, I have some things coming up this weekend and next week that might help, but otherwise I’m beginning to wonder if there’s not as much interest as I once thought there was.

So, yeah, been a BLAH kinda week. The weekend looks like it could be fun, but nothing life altering I don’t think. Why is it you never know when you’re going to be burned out so you can make sure to take a vacation that week?

For some reason I’ve had System of a Down’s “Chop Suey” stuck in my head all week. Cool song and all, but I hate it when I get songs stuck like that. Probably doesn’t help that I’ve come into work and listened to it at least once a day this week.

Saw the parental units last weekend when they were down in my area for a wedding reception. Got the rundown on everyone at home and it sounds like everybody is doing fine. Always good to hear.

Would someone please decide if we’re going to attack Iraq? If we’re going to, I’m willing to commit a solid 24-48 hours to watching the news and reading CNN.com, but I’m afraid I simply can’t give up any more of my free-time for such drivel. So, Dick, George W., let me know when I should start putting CNN back on my DSS channel lineup and I’ll be happy to check out your little war. Thanks. Oh, and let me know when it’s over! I’d love to hear how we made out.

Had a friend drop a pretty big bomb on us this week. He’s moving with his girlfriend back to her hometown in Tennessee. Not tomorrow or anything, but at the end of the year. I’m happy for them. Also happy for myself as I get some free furniture when he moves! The Big Man’s Chair will be mine…

This weekend a few friends are coming into town. No East Side action, sadly, but I can deal. Actually, I’m not sure I’d have the money for a proper visit to the East Side anyway, so maybe that’s a good thing. Friday a bunch of us are hitting Hooters for dinner and then Dave and Buster’s for some video game action. I plan on spending $5 at D&B’s, though. I’ve played all their video games at least a dozen times, so that place is getting a little dull. However, one of the group hasn’t been there yet, so we’re taking her to see the fun. After that I’m going to see one of my favorite comedies of all-time, Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Classic, classic satire and one I cannot wait to see on the big screen. My film club will hopefully be giving away a t-shirt at the screening, but I have yet to hear official word from the theater manager if that’s going to be ok. We’ll see. Other than that I have no clue what the rest of the weekend is going to hold. Sounds like a trip to The Landing will be happening. I do want to check out XXX at some point this weekend – doesn’t look like a good film, but could be entertaining.

And, with that, I have to get going. I have to go do some stupid work for my stupid job, so I’d better head out. Have a good one.
