Sorry, no pics of the new place just yet. I couldn’t get the digital camera last night like I was hoping. I’ll see what I can do for this weekend.

Man, I just wish this week would end soon. Although, it’s not like I’m particularly looking forward to the weekend either. Monte and I have held off cleaning the old apartment until this weekend, so it won’t be party central round here anyway. Ironically, though, I have a busy as hell weekend coming up.

Saturday morning at 9:30, I start fencing class! How weird is that? I’ve always been into knights and armor and medieval warfare and stuff, so while this is actually a bit later of a style of fighting, it’s in the same ballpark. Anyway, that should be interesting to say the least. I’ll let you know how it goes over the next few weeks. After class I have to work in the morning/early afternoon, so I’m not particularly looking forward to that. Then it’s cleaning for pretty much the rest of the day – whoohoo. Saturday night I’m going to see “Akira” at a midnight showing. I’m pretty pumped about that because I’ve never seen this classic anime on the big screen, so that should be pretty damned cool. Sunday appears to be more cleaning and hopefully some time off in the evening to see a movie or two – possibly “Windtalkers” (I’m a sucker for John Woo, even though this film is getting some pretty piss poor buzz) and “The Bourne Identity” (I had no real desire to see this until this week when some folks on a website I read said it was actually pretty cool). So a busy weekend, but perhaps not particularly fun. I hate those kinds of weekends.

After quite some time off, I think I’ll finally be posting back to The Boundry come July. I wrote something up this week for chudstories.com, a new branch of chud.com that publishes short stories by it’s readers on a given topic, and I’ll probably put this new piece up the first weekend in July. I have another story that I’ve already written a first draft of that I’d like to put up, but I’m not sure it’s ready yet. I dunno. Either way, I’ll start The Boundry back up on July 5, so check back then.

Been feeling pretty sick this week – a constant headache. I’m assuming it’s from the “new house” fumes – paint, carpet, bed sheets, futon, etc. Might have to pick up some Febreez and try to get these odors removed from my immediate living space. If it’s not the fumes, then I don’t know what the hell’s wrong with me.

Film Club stuff is going well. I basically have the website ready to go, minus the message boards which I’ll be setting up sometime next week. I still have to buy the domain name, but I don’t see anyone taking it anytime soon, so I’m going to hold off on that until the 11th hour. I’m anxious to see how things go with it. The worst part is going to be getting the word out that it exists. I need to talk to a few local theaters about putting up flyers or something. Maybe that will be my mission next weekend.

Been doing some GIS stuff this week at work. Well, some pre-GIS work would be a better description. Whenever we get drawings in from engineering firms they come in AutoCAD and require a bit of tweaking before they can be ported into the GIS software, so all this week I’ve been learning how to do that tweaking. It’s been difficult because I don’t really know AutoCAD, so it’s been a lot of trial and error on my part. But, the GIS guy is really cool and helpful, so he’s been good about pointing me in the right direction to accomplish a task. I just hope this kind of thing can keep going.

Speaking of AutoCAD, I’d better get back to working on it. Maybe that will make the day go by faster. Have a good weekend!
