First off, let me start by saying sorry if the site seems really slow. I'm not exactly sure why, but sometimes it seems like it takes forever to come up over the last few days. Must be my cheap-ass hosting company doing something screwy. Eh, for $7 a month, what can you expect?

Did you see Spider-Man? If you answered “no”, you must be the only person who didn’t. Good thing I bought my tickets ahead of time for the 9:15 show – every showing on Friday and Saturday were sold out at our favorite theater. And as you might have heard, the movie broke every conceivable record for an opening weekend. But what did I think of it? Well, you’ll just have to read my movie journal for this week, now won’t you?

So finally finished my last episode of “9 Months” for The Boundry (just in time for Mother’s Day). Thirty-two damn pages, kids. Now that’s just the initial print. I still want to go through and make sure spelling is correct and that all the sentences make sense, but it will be posted soon and I doubt it will be much shorter. Either way, I feel like it’s a good end to a pretty long story. I can’t believe anyone would want it to end any other way. I hope. Anyway, it’ll be posted this Friday FOR SURE. After that, I might be taking a few weeks off from worrying about The Boundry so I can concentrate on another story I’ve been working on for months but haven’t been able to devote too much time to thanks to 9 Months. But, I’m not sure about that, either. We’ll see.

Still hitting the weights pretty hard. I was finally able to walk Monday after blasting the shit outta my legs on Thursday. I was hobbling around like an old man all weekend. And really, I wasn’t walking too well Monday, but once I got to lifting, got the blood flowing, I felt better. Good enough, anyway, to run for a mile, walk for about a half-mile and then run for another mile! I honestly don’t think I could have even done that when I was in high school and I was a lot skinnier back then. Weird, huh? The worst part is, I actually gained a few pounds last weekend after a cookout with friends. Although the pizza I ordered Sunday is probably what pushed me over the edge. Eh, I’ve been a good boy all week, though, so I should be back down to my brick wall by next Monday.

Don’t you just love idiots? Like that guy who has been sending out pipe bombs because he wants to make people understand that death isn’t the end. Hey, Buddy; if you kill someone, sure they might understand that death isn’t the end, but what about us who are still alive? You’re not teaching us a damn thing. See, it’s all about the logic with these psycho bombers. Dumbass.

Yes, I am buying my tickets for Attack of the Clones Friday after work. 12:01AM showing for May 15, baby! I have a feeling I’ll be taking a half-day on the 16th so I can get more than four hours sleep. I don’t care what you say about Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones is a Star Wars movie and I will not let that pass me by, so bite me.

Not a whole lot going on this weekend for me. Some buddies are coming by Saturday to help me do my front brakes and then some grilled animal flesh will be consumed as well as some beer. And…that’s pretty much it. But that’s ok, as I need to save up as much cash as I can for my excursion to Bloomington next weekend to visit some old friends I haven’t seen in quite some time. Have I told you that I’m broke already and I don’t get paid until tomorrow? Yeah, I hate that. So, could be a reaaaaalllllly boring weekend in Bloomington if I can only afford to buy the gas there and back. (I hope I can buy the gas there and back) God, I hate my job.

Speaking of the job front, not much going on. Now it sounds like there might be a position here at the city opening up in the GIS department. Apparently, the city has to go through and plot out all forms of utilities – water, electric, phone, sewer, even streets – and show them on a map with pretty high precision. So, basically they’ll need to hire another GIS guy to run around with a GPS monitor and figure out where manholes and drainage grates are (among other things, obviously) and then plot that reading on a map. Yes, this would be the absolutely perfect job for me, which means that I probably won’t even be considered for it. So with that last hunk of info in mind, I’m not stopping the job hunt. I’ve been tweaking my resume (are you ever done writing those things?) and building a database of companies to send it to when it’s finished. I think probably next week I’ll start sending out paper copies to the companies I’m only mildly interested in and then finish working on my multimedia extravaganza one to send to companies I’d really like to work for. Good to hear that unemployment is at a high percentage right now. Means I’ll be the only person out there looking for a new job. (Please note the sarcasm) Wish me luck.

Well, I suppose I’ve bored you long enough for another week. Make sure you read 9 months on Friday – your Mom will love it. (Please note the sarcasm) Have a good weekend!
