Good afternoon! Sorry the site wasn't updated earlier today, but my ISP had some technical difficulties and I was just able to login now at 3:00. One of those things, ya know? I guess it barely matters anyway as once again I'm pretty much not writing anything. I really do apologize for all this, but you have no idea how busy I am anymore.

Last night I got home at 6:30, made some tasty baked rigatoni, watched West Wing, started my laundry and wrote until 11:00 when I finally forced myself to stop so I would go workout. That's a pretty typical night for me anymore, except substitute "baked rigatoni" with "turkey sandwich" or "bagel pizza" and "West Wing" with "Unholy Ceramics Class" or "Staying late at the office to write".

Tonight isn't looking much better either - going to see Weezer and Tenacious D in concert over at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Tomorrow's open! Saturday I have to work part of the day - don't even get me started how pissed off I am about that. Sunday I'm going to Hooters to meet some of the folks who hang out on one of the other projects I'm working on for a buddy of mine, a website for Ford Mustang owners in the St. Louis area called stlmustangs.com. So, yeah, Space Monkey X = Busy as hell.

Since I'm slacking off once again, I decided to give you all a special little treat - a brief taste of one of the projects I'm working - The Boundry. The Boundry, as you might recall, is sort of an online pulp magazine, filled with short stories a friend and I are writing. Well, this is one of the stories that will be in the first issue, slated for official publication on January 1, 2002. It, and any other stories that will be featured on The Boundry, will be in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. We like that because it gives us more control over the layout and look of the page, plus it feels a bit more like a magazine or book, especially if you print it out and take it with you to read on the can.

So, here is your first - and probably only - preview of a story that will be featured on The Boundry come January. Enjoy, feel free to send feedback (good or bad) and understand that this is what I'm really concentrating on right now instead of SMX.

For those of you with short attention spans, it is about 10 pages long, but there's quite a bit of dialogue, so it's not really that long. Check it out and if you just can't finish it...well, you're a loser, but at least you tried to concentrate on one thing for more than 30 seconds and that's commendable (not really).
