Hey! Sorry if you came to the site this morning expecting a new entry. I was in the city last night for a 9:30 showing of The Devil’s Backbone, a Spanish horror film that I absolutely freaking loved. Although the experience was slightly marred by the fact they must have had an 8-year old running the projector. Eh, either way, very cool, fun movie; definitely purchasing it once it hits the ol’ DVD market.

I really need to get a haircut. It has officially been over the one-year mark and I just sort of want to get it trimmed down a little. With how thick my hair is, its just getting too long in the back. Although I do feel sexy when I step out of the shower and swoosh my hair around like I’m on a shampoo commercial. Did I just say that out loud?

As you might have guessed, I really don’t have much to talk about again tonight. What with the anthrax dying down and us kicking the shit outta the Taliban, there’s just not much going on in the world that I can change in these few lines of text. Oh…wait, that’s the case every week, isn’t it? Oh well. The main reason I have nothing for you this week is because I’ve been spending every free moment working on a few other projects. Let me fill you in on them.

Remember that mucho grande one that I mentioned a long time ago? Well, the website address has been registered, some graphics have been made, a lot of writing has been done as well as some bidding on ebay to collect some missing pieces to the puzzle over the last few weeks. The site is still nowhere near ready, but it is on its way at least. What is the site? DailyCupOJoe.com – a website with entertaining synopses and commentary of every issue of G.I. Joe comic books printed since the 1980’s. The idea is that you can come to the site once a day and read one issue’s synopsis and keep coming back until you’ve read them all – thus, your Daily Cup O’ Joe. I know, I know, it seems childish, but I’m having a ball going back through and reading all 155 issues of the regular series, the 29 Special Missions issues, the 4 GI Joe vs. The Transformers mini-series, recreating the Order of Battle issues (essentially a cast list with picture and biography info for each character), and reading the new issues that are just coming out on newsstands and writing about the plot and my silly little observations about each one. It will probably take me a long time to get this done, but my website hosting is only $7/month, so I can take all the time I need and it won’t cost me an arm and a leg. Besides, it’ll be a fun little diversion while I’m in between semesters at school. Oh, by the way, if you ever come to the site, make sure you remember the “daily” in front of the “cupojoe.com”. Let’s just say cupojoe.com isn’t suitable for young viewers. Damn porn industry…

The other site is pretty much getting underway as we speak. It’s going to be called The Boundry and is a throwback to the old days of pulp magazines like Amazing Stories, Weird Tales and Vault of Horror. A friend of mine and I are going to publish our own short stories on the web to polish our writing skills and, hopefully, get some people interested in us enough to want to publish us in a book, perhaps. Even if we never get an agent, it’s still a place for us to work on ideas and work on the craft. We’re pretty excited about it, so look for me to be mentioning it again in the future.

Work is going well. Just as I was freaking out last week about my job, I got a meeting with my boss on Friday who told me that he wants me to start doing GIS stuff at work. So, I’m working on a little project and things are looking up.

Well, I think I’ve probably bored you enough for the week. I swear this weekend I’ll work on something other than Daily Cup O’ Joe or The Boundry and I’ll have a good, thought-provoking entry for next week. I swear. Yes…I am crossing my fingers behind my back.
