That’s like having “Native American History Month” sponsored by Absolut. Or “Jewish History Month” sponsored by a savings and loan.

Isn’t this exactly the kind of stereotype they’re trying to dispell with these news stories?

I meant to write this one a few weeks ago when I heard it and it kept slipping my mind to do so until just now.

Pissing Neon

I hadn’t watched this in a while and needed something to run in the background while I cleaned up the living room. However, I sat and watched the introduction – the part where we watch the kids’ early lives – and I got hooked in. I did get some cleaning done, but it wasn’t terribly productive. I can’t really explain it, but this is one of “those” films for me. It’s one I’ve always connected to and feel, more than once, like it’s telling my story in some strange way. Maybe it’s the early success of the kids who later sink into mid-life mediocrity, maybe it’s just the general sadness of not being able to find what makes you happy in life; whatever it is, this film has an impact on me everytime I watch it.
